أخذت القصة من رواية خيالية للأطفال من نفس الاسم وتأليف الكاتبة "ديانا وايني جونز" بطلة القصة هي "صوفي" التي تعيش مع زوجة أبيها وبنتيها بعد وفاة أبيها ، الذي ترك لهم محل لبيع القبعات ، تحولت إلى امرأة عجوز من قبل ساحرة ولذلك خرجت للبحث عن "هاول" الساحر الذي أنقذها من قبل ليرجعها إلى شكلها الطبيعي ، والذي يمتلك قلعة مدهشة وغريبة والتي تبدو وكأنها رجل آلي عملاق وتتحرك بواسطة قوة شيطان النار "كالكفر" فماذا سيحدث بعد ذلك ؟ وهل ستتمكن "صوفي" من استرجاع شكلها السابق؟

تم إرسال قاتل الوحوش الشهير غابرييل فان هيلسنج إلى ترانسيلفانيا لمساعدة آخر سلالة فاليريوس في هزيمة الكونت دراكولا. تكشف آنا فاليريوس أن دراكولا قد شكلت تحالفاً غير مقدس مع وحش دكتور فرانكشتاين وهي عازمة على فرض لعنة عمرها قرون على عائلتها.

تدور أحداث الفيلم بعد حوالى 15 عامًا على الحادثة المرعبة بمنزل (جينجير بيرد)، حيث الآن أصبح كلا من الشقيقين (هانسيل) و(جريتيل) يشكلان فريق قوي لصيد الساحرات، حيث يتم تعقبهم، والتخلص منهم في جميع أنحاء العالم، بالطبع مع كثير من المغامرات والمطاردات والرعب أحيانًا.

بعد سماعها سرًا صادمًا ، تتاجر اليتيمة المبكرة ليرا بيلاكوا في وجودها الخالي من الهموم وهي تتجول في قاعات كلية الأردن في مغامرة أخرى في أقصى الشمال ، غير مدركة أنها جزء من مصيرها.
