A resident tea plantation worker dreads her approaching retirement as she is forced to choose between keeping her home or saving her daughter from an exploitative and back breaking labour system.

Gajamathi is an immigrant worker from Bihar, who lives in a small shack in the construction building along with her mother Shanthi and her three-year-old daughter Bijli. As fate would have its indifferent course, Bijli goes missing from the construction site. Relentless, Gajamati along with her mother and the kind hearted site foreman Murugan go on a crusade to find and bring Bijli back to her home.

In the upside-down realm of the night, an orphan daughter in law and her mother in law, develop an uncanny bond. Secrets are spilled, recipes shared, and late night thoughts exchanged that will set them free…literally. From deep Konkan, comes a magical tale of an other-worldly friendship, that is as sweet, spicy and salty as a ‘Solkadhi’.

Chhoti Si Baat is a story of 12 year old Shiv who has been guarding a secret oh-so-confidently. His life comes to a halt in the midst of Ganpati Celebrations when things take an unexpected turn.
