The story of five Bashkirs who have to go through two wars - the Russian-Swedish and the Patriotic War of 1812. The French called them Northern Cupids in honor of the deity of love, Cupid, because the horsemen were armed with bows and arrows. They unexpectedly attacked the enemy and just as sharply went to the rear, remaining elusive.
The boys from lost to the spurs a gray-haired Ural village Berkuty, yearn for big adventures and glorious exploits. But all the feats have already been accomplished by their fathers and older brothers on the battlefields of the great war. And the most they can do is get a good knife or run away from an angry bull. But the ancient legend of the enchanted mount Kiramet, told by a movie mechanic at a night campfire, gives them a chance to perform a real feat that everyone will be proud of!

The film is dedicated to the people's poet of the Republic of Bashkortostan Rami Garipov, who lived a bright fate and was persecuted for protecting the poet's right to create in his native language. The picture shows the pages of the poet's life and work during the period from 1941 to 1977.
