In the year 1520, during a violent hurricane in the North Sea, a ship in distress. The sailors are convinced that the abbot they have aboard is causing this. They throw him overboard with his holy scriptures.

På godset Næsbygaard går den gamle godsejer og savner barnebarnet Martin, der er på en kvægfarm i Texas for at lære noget om landbrug. Skytten på godset er syg, så stutterimesteren må passe hans job også. Det er netop i en tid, hvor han træner hårdt til galop løbet om Kongens ærespræmie. For at hjælpe på humøret får de besøg af nogle københavnske feriebørn. Da der opstår store problemer omkring krybskytteri på godsets jord er børnene med til at opklare sagen. Stutterimesteren kommer til skade og det ser ud til at godsets hest ikke kan deltage i det store galop løb. Men heldigvis kommer unge Martin hjem fra Texas i rette tid...

The mysterious Mr. Steinmetz has acquired the ability to create things and beings by will alone. Only, after a while his creations invariably disappear. Frederik Larsen (Lau Lauritzen Jr.), a sailor and has sailed since he was 15. Now he has lost the desire for a sailor life, especially after his best friend Bob was lost in a hurricane. He delivers his kitbag to the concierge Henrik (Mogens Hermansen) before he was lured by accordion music and the laughter that comes to him from the "naughty" side of Nyhavn. In the Cafe "The black sails", he accidently joins Inger (Lisbeth Movin) at the same table, whose profession is not in the phone book, although it is the world's oldest. Inger is in the company of an unemployed stoker Vladimir W. Olsen (Poul Reichhardt) that is full of scams, and has a good mood.
