Asteroid City by bylo zcela nezajímavým flekem na mapě, kdyby na něj před lety nedopadl meteorit, který tu vyhloubil dolík. Poblíž vzniklo svérázné městečko, které hostí pravidelná setkání výjimečných mladých lidí a jejich rodičů, kteří tu mají poměřit síly, pobavit se a ujistit se, že na tu genialitu nejsou sami. Vytržení ze všední reality zejména ocení relativně čerstvý vdovec se čtyřmi mimořádnými dětmi a tchánem, jenž mu dosud nepřišel na chuť. Podobně je na tom i filmová hvězda Midge Campbellová, jejíž geniální dcera má víc sebevědomí než ona. I další účastníci jsou svým způsobem velmi unikátní a do pouště dorazili s nadšením a touhou po dobrodružství. Už takováto sešlost by stačila k tomu, aby si Asteroid City zasloužilo zvýšenou pozornost. Na přední stránky všech světových periodik se městečko dostane díky „blízkému setkání třetího druhu“, k němuž dojde během akce.

Tom Lowe, držitel titulu The Astronomy Protographer of the Year 2011, letos přichází s dlouho očekávaným filmovým debutem TimeScapes. Jedná se o slow-motion a timelapse projekt snímaný celé dva roky na jihozápadě USA. Jde o první filmový počin v delším časovém formátu (cca 48 minut) komerčně nabízený v kvalitě 4K (škoda, že nevlastním žádné kino). Neuvěřitelné záběry získávají svojí technickou dokonalostí takovou působivost, že člověk zírá s otevřenou pusou bezmála hodinu na obrazovku, aniž by se tam odehrával jakýkoliv souvislý děj.
