Εμπνευσμένο από μια αληθινή ιστορία. Ο Jun Shik εργάζεται στο αγρόκτημα του παππού του Tatsuo, ενώ η Κορέα αποικίστηκε από την Ιαπωνία, αλλά έχει ένα όνειρο: να συμμετάσχει στους Ολυμπιακούς Αγώνες του Τόκιο ως μαραθωνοδρόμος. Στη συνέχεια δραπετεύουν, αλλά σύντομα συλλαμβάνονται από τους Γερμανούς και αναγκάζονται να χωρίσουν. Το 1944, θα συναντηθούν και πάλι στις ακτές της Νορμανδίας.
