השנה היא 2030, 6 שנים מאז שמלחמת העולם הרביעית הסתיימה. ים של פליטים מורשה להיכנס ליפן על מנת לספק כוח עבודה זול בכלכלה המתאוששת, אבל יש מי שאינו מעוניין בפליטים הללו. סקציית הביטחון הציבורי 9, המורכבת גם מסייבורגים, יוצאת לחשוף תא טרוריסטי בשם "אינדיבידואל אלבן". במקביל מתארגנים גם הפליטים לקראת מלחמת אזרחים פוטנציאלית.

מתקפה פתאומית על ידי וולף, לורד דונדני חכם ואכזר המבקש נקמה על מות אביו, מכריח את הלם יד-פטיש, המלך האגדי של רוהאן, ואנשיו להימלט ולהתבצר במצודת הורנברג – מצודה אדירה שבעתיד תהיה מוכרת בשם "מצודת הלם". לאחר שמוצאת את עצמה במצב נואש להחריד, הרה, בתו של הלם, חייבת לאזור כוחות ולהוביל את ההתנגדות כנגד אויב רצחני, המבקש את השמדתם המוחלטת.

מיטסוהא מיאמיזו, תלמידת תיכון, משתוקקת לחיות חיים של ילד בעיר הרועשת של טוקיו — חלום שעומד בניגוד מוחלט לחייה העכשווים בכפר. בזמן שבעיר, טאקי טאצ'יבנה חי חיים עמוסים כתלמיד תיכון בעודו מלהטט בין העבודה החלקית שלו ומקווה לעסוק בעתיד באדריכלות. יום אחד, מיטסואה מתעוררת בחדר שלא שלה ולפתע מוצאת את עצמה חיה את חלום חייה בטוקיו — אבל בגופו של טאקי! במקום אחר, טאקי מוצא את עצמו חי את חייה של מיטסואה בכפר צנוע. במרדף אחר תשובה לתופעה המוזרה הזו, הם מתחילים לחפש זה את זו.

כשהוריה מחליטים לעבור דירה, צ'יהירו נאלצת להיפרד מחבריה. היא מאד עצובה וכועסת על כך, והיא לא מסתירה את זה. בדרך לבית החדש מתפתה אביה להיכנס לפארק שעשועים מוזנח. בשעה שהוריה מוצאים לעצמם דוכן מזון, היא משוטטת ומקטרת, עד שמישהו מזהיר אותה להסתלק מהמקום לפני רדת החשיכה. אך כשהיא שבה להזהיר את הוריה היא מגלה כי הם כבר הפכו לחזירים. מכאן היא עתידה להיתקל בעוד ועוד יצורים משונים, ותצטרך לגלות אחריות כדי לשמור על זהותה.

לאחר שכושפה לתוך גוף של זקנה, יוצאת סופי בת ה-18 לטירתו הנעה של קוסם נרקיסיסט אך חסר בטחון עצמי בשם האוול, כדי שיעזור לה להיפטר מהקללה. במקום היא מתחברת לדמון, ששוכן אצל הקוסם כחלק מחוזה, והשניים מסכימים לעזור זה לזה. באמצע היא והאוול מתאהבים לתוך המשך קסום כפי שרק הייאו מייאזקי (המסע המופלא) יודע לייצר במכחולו. יצירה מקורית ומלאת קסם, מאת גדול אמני האנימה.

העלילה בסרט כמעט ולא קיימת. ילדה שאוספת צנצנות מלאות במים ושומרת על ביצה שכנראה יקרה לה ולא ידוע תוכנה הפנימי, חיה בעולם כמעט מחוסר אנשים בלי אור יום. היא פוגשת חייל שמחזיק בידו מין חפץ שנראה כמו צלב. לאחר זמן מה מתפתחת שיחה והחייל מספר לה גרסה אמנזית של תיבת נוח.

לויד מקבל פקודה להיות מוחלף במבצע סטריקס. הוא מחליט לעזור לאניה לזכות בתחרות הבישול באקדמית עדן על ידי הכנת המנה האהובה של המנהל - ולמנוע את החלפתו.

Kenichi asks Hattori to take revenge as a recurring storyline in many episodes. Although Hattori is a good friend, Kenichi sometimes fights with Hattori due to misunderstandings created by Kemumaki. Sometimes Jippou, Togejirou and Tsubame help him.

After 2 and a half years Naruto finally returns to his village of Konoha, and sets about putting his ambitions to work. It will not be easy though as he has amassed a few more dangerous enemies, in the likes of the shinobi organization; Akatsuki.
