Georgian bush pilot Valentin (Valiko) Mizandari a.k.a. Mimino works at small local airlines, flying helicopters between small villages. But he dreams of piloting large international airlines aircrafts, so he goes to Moscow for refresher courses. There in a hotel he meets truck driver Robik who is given a place in that hotel by mistake, and they have a lot of adventures in Moscow. Always amicable and open to people, Mimino does not feel at home in the big city. Nevertheless, he becomes a pilot of a supersonic jet liner, the Tupolev Tu-144, flying all over the world. But feeling homesick, he finally comes back to his native town of Telavi in Georgia, to his family and friends.

The day after his funeral, the corpse of Varlam Aravidze, the mayor of a small Georgian town, turns up in his son's garden. Although it is secretly reburied, the corpse keeps returning until the police capture the local woman who is responsible. This woman says that Varlam should never be laid to rest since his Stalin-like reign of terror led to the disappearance of her family and friends.

Agricultural machinery is being unloaded from a ship at the Batumi port. The chairman of the collective farm asks the loaders to unload them first, due to the need to carry out work in the countryside on time. The loaders demand additional pay. Angered by the behavior of their senior comrades, the Komsomol members, led by Beso, unload the machinery themselves. After that, the old loader, Sergo, becomes angry with Beso. His daughter Kato marries Beso against her father's will. But Beso, like Sergo, forbids Kato from getting involved in public life. He only wants his wife as a domestic servant. Kato returns to his father with his son. Meanwhile, there are changes at the port. Due to mechanization, the loaders' work is significantly lighter. Sergo reconciles with Beso. The young people also reconcile. Kato starts working at a public canteen.

World War I. Russian soldiers in France learn that there is a revolution in their homeland and demand to return. The French government sends them to a concentration camp. The soldiers, led by Chernov, continue to fight for their return to their homeland. Chernov escapes from the camp. Here he meets a certain Ribault, who is deceiving the Russian soldiers into leaving for Morocco, to join the Foreign Legion. The soldiers learn this information on the ship before departure, capture the ship's crew, and take the ship to Russia.

Amidst the hills of the ancient city of Mtskheta, an aging man nearing his hundredth year is forced to make way for a new road being paved through the blossoming garden of floral delights that he loves and cares for.

This chamber drama is set in Georgia on the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries. A simple peasant family makes its living by selling yogurt which the Magdany widow takes every morning to the town market. Once, in their mother’s absence, the children – six-year-old Mikho and three-year-old Kato – found an abandoned donkey on a road leading to their village. The foundling was fed, tended, and the moment the donkey opened its big, tender eyes, it was named “Lurdja”, which means “blue-eyed”. Surrounded by love and care, the donkey became a big help in the poor household. But this idyll was not to last long…

The super submarine "Pioneer" and it's intrepid crew is dispatched to find the source of these mysterious sinking's...Unknown to the captain, his chief engineer is working for the bad guys, intent on stopping their efforts, at any cost...It seems the real chief had a twin brother who was a circus acrobat who murdered and replaced him.
