Gus è appena guarito da un cancro e le cure lo hanno ridotto calvo e sfigurato. Sua sorella Lizzie lo fa incontrare con una graziosa giornalista, che però rifiuta gentilmente le sue avances. Sotto la guida di Lizzie, Gus affronta dieta e sport. È un'altra persona quando ritorna alla carica e la bella fanciulla questa volta ci sta. Ma Gus non vuole essere amato solo per la propria immagine.
