결혼식 당일 러시아와의 전투에 징집된 ‘도뷔시’는 자유를 주겠다는 대령의 말에 열심히 싸웠지만 배신당한다. 그 후 지옥 같은 곳에서 탈출한 ‘도뷔시’는 도적이 된 동생을 만나 그의 손을 잡는다. 한편 대령과 그의 부인 대공녀는 러시아 군대의 지원을 받기 위해서 무법자 ‘도뷔시’를 처리해 능력을 증명하려 하는데…

2013년 우크라이나에서 평화적으로 시작한 학생 시위가 93일 간에 걸쳐 점차 폭력 혁명과 전격적인 민권 운동으로 발전한다.

2014년 9월, 우크라이나 동부 대 테러 작전지역 (ATO Zone)에서 민간인을 태운 버스가 습격 당하는 사건이 발생한다. 이를 두고 우크라이나로부터 분리 독립을 요구하며 내전을 벌이고 있는 반군세력은 정부군의 소행이라며 비난하고 정부군은 사실무근이라며 양측은 일촉즉발의 상황에 놓인다. 이 때, 결정적인 제보가 정부군에 접수되면서 버스 습격사건을 조사하기 위해 정보국 소속 안톤 샤엔코 대위와 그의 작전팀이 대 테러 작전지역에 투입되는데...

키예프 공국이 멸망한 후, 러시아제국은 키예프 공국의 후예였던 우크라이나를 침략해 국민들을 무자비하게 탄압하기 시작했다. 말을 하지 못하는 병을 안고 태어난 아이 ‘올렉사’는 정부 저항세력이었던 외삼촌과 함께 병을 치료하기 위해 여정을 떠난다. 기적적으로 병을 고치고 집으로 돌아온 기쁨도 잠시, 외삼촌을 쫓던 정부군에 의해 죽임을 당한 어머니를 목격한다. 이 날 이후 ‘올렉사’는 무자비한 악마들을 처단하기 위해 숲 속에 숨어 무술을 연마하여 동료들과 함께 최정예 저항군을 결성하고, 무리의 우두머리로 정부의 집요한 추격을 받게 된다. 그러던 중 사랑하는 여인을 만나 가정까지 꾸리게 되지만, 결국 ‘올렉사’는 자신의 최종 목표를 위해 위대한 여정을 떠나게 되는데…

During the period of the 20-30s of the twentieth century, Ukrainian culture experienced its formation, flourishing and tragic finale. The three-part documentary tells about the shares of Vladimir Sosyura, Pavel Ticini, Nikolai Fitilev, Les Kurbas, Nikolai Kulish, Mikhail Boychuk and Alexander Dovzhenko. The film uses a chronicle of that time, the authors visited the places where the events of this dark era for Ukraine unfolded, and in numerous museums that have preserved materials, papers and evidence of those years.
