3 സുഹൃത്തുക്കളുടെയും ജോണ്‍ ഡോണ്‍ ബോസ്കോ എന്ന മെന്‍റലിസ്റ്റിന്‍റെയും കഥയാണ് ‘പ്രേതം’. അജു വര്‍ഗീസ്, ജിപി, ഷറഫുദ്ദീന്‍ എന്നിവരാണ് മൂന്ന് സുഹൃത്തുക്കളെ അവതരിപ്പിക്കുന്നത്. ഈ സുഹൃത്തുക്കള്‍ ഒരു ബീച്ച് റിസോര്‍ട്ട് വിലയ്ക്ക് വാങ്ങുന്നതും അവിടെ ചില അസ്വാഭാവിക ശക്തികളുടെ സാന്നിധ്യം അനുഭവപ്പെടുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നതോടെയാണ് സിനിമയുടെ കഥയില്‍ ട്രാക്കുമാറ്റമുണ്ടാകുന്നത്. ഒടുവില്‍ ഒരു മെന്‍റലിസ്റ്റ് അവരുടെ ജീവിതത്തിലേക്ക് വരുന്നു. ആ റിസോര്‍ട്ടില്‍ യഥാര്‍ത്ഥത്തില്‍ എന്താണ് സംഭവിക്കുന്നതെന്ന് മെന്‍റലിസ്റ്റിന് കണ്ടെത്താനാകുമോ എന്നാണ് സിനിമ അന്വേഷിക്കുന്നത്.
