Kunsang Wangmo, known as “Mola”, is a 100 year old Buddhist nun, exiled from her homeland of Tibet in 1959 after the Chinese invasion along with her husband and two daughters. In India, her youngest daughter and husband tragically die, and she eventually escapes to Switzerland with her eldest daughter, Sonam Dolma, and Sonam’s new husband, Martin Brauen. Many years later, as the end of her life draws near, Mola decides that she wants to finally return to Tibet to die.
