Lex Luthor is het zat om altijd maar door Superman verslagen te worden en grijpt zijn kans als de wereldleiders besluiten om alle atoomwapens te vernietigen. Hij gebruikt een haar van Superman om een eigen Supermens te maken. Superman komt erachter dat deze 'Nuclear Man' minstens net zo sterk als hij is en heeft zijn handen vol om de ravage op te lossen die Nuclear Man veroorzaakt.
