Na een afwezigheid van vier jaar keert Ahmad vanuit Iran terug naar Parijs om de echtscheiding met zijn vrouw Marie af te ronden. Marie woont inmiddels samen met een nieuwe vriend Samir en diens zoontje. Marie's oudste dochter uit een eerder huwelijk is onhandelbaar vanwege haar woede over Samir's aanwezigheid in huis.
