A playwright finds an old play about his first love who died in his drawer after 20 years and decides to finish it casting his wife in the role of his dead girlfriend.

In an attempt to distract the media, former child star and embattled real-estate mogul, Eddie Wander, plans the kidnapping of his own nephew. His lawyer tries in vain to discourage him, even as the cops and criminals he's hired begin putting the nonsensical plan into motion.
