The story of Conradin, a sickly young boy, and Sredni Vashtar, his pet polecat/ferret. Conradin prayed to the malign deity Sredni Vashtar for deliverance from his hated aunt. This episode was scheduled to start the series on 22 December, but went unscreened due to a BBC strike.
