Motu Patlu are needed in ants' land to help the ants escape Zinguraa (a big black bug that eats ants). The queen asks Dr Antz to have some magical potion and bite Motu Patlu to reduce them to ant size. Dr Antz threatens Motu Patlu to help ants world if they wish to go back to their human size.
